School Council Relaunch!
Last week, we began our relaunch of the school council. The children who were interested thought long and hard about why they wished to represent their class and shared it with them. The children then carried out a democratic vote to elect their representatives. Our school council consists of children from Years 2 - 6.
On Wedensday 11th February, the school council met for the very first time! We discussed what a school council is and how it will work. We also began discussing the responses from our recent pupil voice surveys. We plan to meet every two weeks, our next meeting will be Wednesday 25th February.
Joshua (Y3D) "The meeting was excellent because we all got chance to talk about how to make the school a better place to be. I am looking forward to having more conversations with Miss Jackson and the other representatives about how we can make St. Chrysostom's an exciting and outstanding place to learn!"
Alisha (Y3S) "It was fun & we got to see how we should improve the school."
Year 2's Flashbang Science Workshops
Year 2 had a fantastic day with Tom and Joe from Flashbang Science! We took part in lots of experiments, from investigating what happens to raisins when put in fizzy drink to blowing up balloons with vinegar and baking soda. We also enjoyed chasing huge bubbles! What a brilliant day!
Grace (2S) "I thought the science day was really exciting! My favourite part was when we mixed the milk with the food colouring."
Levi (2N) "I liked putting the paper in the cup of water to see the different colours inside each felt pen (a chromatography experiment)."
Year 4's Singing Experience Trip
This week Year 4 were transformed into pop stars as we had the amazing opportunity to visit a professional music recording studio in Manchester. The children learnt all about the technology and equipment used to record musical compositions, as well as the computer programming required to edit a music video. After touring the studio, the children rehearsed and performed the song 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams. Both classes recorded their very own pop-star CD and had loads of fun making the video! In addition, the children had the chance to dazzle and shine in front of a professional photographer. Overall, the trip was truly amazing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Watch out world as Year 4 has some future stars!
Taleah (Y4) "My favourite part of the trip was making the video because it was really funny!"
Jaden (Y4) "The trip was amazing and the most enjoyable part was singing like a pop star!"
Malaiykah (Y4) "The trip was spectacular because we got to do three exciting activities!"
